Before acting, Pratt had a career in the music industry, co-writing songs with Lionel Bart. He enjoyed some success as a songwriter, including the song "King for Tonight," which became a hit for Marty Wilde.
In addition to Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Pratt appeared in numerous other television shows, including The Saint, Gideon's Way, and The Avengers. He also had roles in films such as Murder Ahoy! and The Liquidator.
He suffered from alcoholism for many years and sadly died of lung cancer at the relatively young age of 45.
